What if The Prince Regent's daughter Charlotte had survived?
In the present-day United Kingdom, Charlotte's great-great-granddaughter and namesake is Queen Regnant, amidst political upheaval and family scandal.
Queen Charlotte married her cousin, Alexander Ramsay in 1951. While Charlotte is an only child, Alexander is the second son of the 13th Earl of Dalhousie. The couple has known each other since childhood.
Charlotte came to the throne in 1952, following the death of her father, Edward VIII. She and Alexander have four children, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
